Welcome to New Public Thinking.
We think it’s time for a better public conversation about the society in which we live and the world in which we find ourselves. One with less posturing and shouting, fewer rehearsed arguments and a greater willingness to think together, to risk being wrong, to surprise ourselves and each other.
This site is one reflection of a culture of ideas and conversations, informal spaces of learning, connection and exploration which are emerging around the world today, catalysed by networked technologies, but grounded in the face-to-face encounters from which new thinking has always grown.
For a fuller introduction to what we’re trying to do, read Dougald Hine’s launch essay, Time for New Public Thinking.
We are still working our way towards a clearer understanding of what this site is about and what the project around it could be. We are keen to involve a wider range of voices and for our conversations to get entangled with those going on elsewhere. If you want to become part of this, to suggest a possible collaboration or to ask us more about what we think we’re doing, please do write to us at:
